Exercise #1 : Dynamics of Structure
This exercise involves the relationship of geometric shapes and overlapping. In order to create a complex composition arrangement and creativity need to be prominent.
Exercise #2 : Expressive Use of Lines
For this exercise we had to create a non symmetric design using various line characteristics that we had sketched out.
Exercise #3 : Introduction to Illustrator CC and Typography
I used Adobe Illustrator for this exercise. We had to make one symmetric and one asymmetric design using one letter from the alphabet and focus on the positive and negative spaces.
Exercise #4 : Typography and the Principle of Emphasis
I used Adobe Illustrator for this exercise as well. We had to use our initials to create a focal point. The color scheme for this project was black, white and gray, but we were only allowed to use gray once.
Project #1 : Chromatic Value Scale
This was the first project for my 2D class. We had transitioned from the exercises to projects as well as transitioning from creating things digitally to now using gauche paint. The assignment was to create a chromatic value scale using only one hue, in which I chose to you the color blue. We had to start with white and gradually end with black.
Project #2 : Monochromatic and Asymmetric Design
For this assignment we had to create a design with a sense of depth using a monochromatic color scheme. This purpose of this project was to help improve our asymmetric composition design and to continue to be familiar with gauche paint.
